XRP Ledger Foundation Adds Flare to Trusted Validator List as Anodos Steps Down
The XRP Ledger Foundation and Ripple have aligned on an updated 35-key recommended validator list, welcoming Flare Networks while Anodos Finance steps down to pivot toward Solana.

- Validator Roster Alignment: The XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF) and Ripple now publish identical 35-node recommended Unique Node Lists (dUNL), onboarding Flare Networks’ validator infrastructure (
xrpl-verification.flare.network).- Anodos Sunsets XRPL Products: Neobanking platform Anodos Finance voluntarily requested removal from the trusted list as it winds down all XRPL-based services (including its validator, ANODEX, and native wallet) to migrate operations to Solana by October 31.
- Cross-Chain Governance Synergies: Flare’s inclusion formalizes its growing role in XRPL consensus while reinforcing interoperability efforts, such as FXRP collateral minting and cross-chain liquidity rails.
The governance and consensus footprint of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has undergone a notable shift following an update to the network’s recommended validator list. The XRP Ledger Foundation officially added Flare Networks to its published roster while removing long-time infrastructure operator Anodos Finance.
With this update, both the independent XRP Ledger Foundation and Ripple publish matching 35-validator manifests, ensuring unified consensus parameters across the ecosystem’s default Unique Node Lists (dUNLs).
Flare Steps Into XRPL Consensus Governance
Unlike Proof-of-Work (PoW) or Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains that rely on miners or economic stake weight to order transactions, the XRP Ledger relies on the Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA) model. In this setup, network participants track a curated list of trusted validators—known as a Unique Node List (UNL)—to agree on state transitions and ledger closings every 3 to 5 seconds.
The addition of Flare’s validator manifest (xrpl-verification.flare.network) directly integrates the smart-contract platform into XRPL’s core voting machinery:
- Consensus Influence: As an active participant on the 35-key default list, Flare holds direct voting weight on protocol amendments, fee adjustments, and ledger closing consensus.
- Expanding Technical Synergy: Flare has established deep roots in the XRPL DeFi ecosystem through its Flare Data Connector and FAsset protocol, which enables users to mint FXRP, bridge decentralized collateral, and interact with stablecoins like Ripple’s RLUSD.
- Independent Decentralization: Bringing an external layer-1 protocol team onto the recommended validator list reinforces the ledger’s objective of distributing governance power away from concentrated operational clusters.
Anodos Finance Retires Infrastructure Ahead of Solana Pivot
The removal of Anodos Finance comes directly at the company’s request as the team prepares to decommission its XRPL services by October 31.
Operating as an on-chain neobank and financial super-app, Anodos previously ran an XRPL validator alongside consumer-facing decentralized exchange tools (ANODEX) and self-custody wallet infrastructure. However, the protocol announced a complete migration to Solana, citing technical architecture requirements for its next stage of product development.
Because a validator must maintain near-constant uptime to prevent consensus degradation or voting stalls, the proactive removal ensures network performance remains uninterrupted ahead of the October 31 shutdown deadline.
Why Validator List Alignment Matters for XRPL Nodes
Node operators across the XRP Ledger ecosystem often default to the recommended validator sets published by either the XRP Ledger Foundation or Ripple. While server operators can customize their trusted validator lists, aligning both primary publisher payloads prevents node divergence and mitigates consensus fragmentation risks.
Recent telemetry confirms that all 35 validator keys across both published lists are now completely identical. With Flare replacing Anodos, node runners following the standard foundation list will automatically track Flare’s verification endpoint without needing to perform manual node reconfigurations.
As the XRP Ledger approaches upcoming governance votes on single-asset lending vaults and protocol optimization amendments, Flare’s addition brings another active smart-contract engineering team into the core circle of validator governance.
