Bitcoin ETFs Turn October Positive With a Third Straight Inflow Day
US spot Bitcoin ETFs added $137M on Wednesday, lifting October into net positive territory. Here’s the context behind the numbers.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in about $137 million on Wednesday, their third straight day of inflows. That pushed October’s net flows to roughly +$111 million, according to SoSoValue data. The month had been negative through Tuesday.
The numbers
- Three-day inflows: about $424 million
- October net flows: about +$111 million, after a heavy outflow of around $774 million over the final two trading days of the previous week
- Ether ETFs: another $21 million of outflows on Wednesday, bringing October’s net outflows to about $1.35 billion
The Fed backdrop
The inflows came on the day the US Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged. Chair Kevin Warsh said inflation remains above the 2% target. Analysts say Bitcoin’s next move may depend more on Treasury yields, the dollar, and overall risk appetite than on the Fed itself.
Bitcoin traded near $79,800, down about 1% on the day. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stayed at 51, “Neutral.”
Why the context matters
A positive month is a small win, but two points keep it in perspective:
- Bitcoin is trading below the roughly $81,300 average cost of ETF buyers, a level investingLive recently flagged as a test for the funds’ holders.
- Coinbase Institutional estimates that corporate treasury companies bought about $14.5 billion of Bitcoin in the first half of 2026, while US spot ETFs saw nearly $5 billion of net selling.
Together, these suggest the buyers behind the current price are not only ETF investors.
What to watch
Whether the inflow streak survives the last two trading days of October, and whether price can recover the ETF cost-basis level.
